Inspired by the Booker Prize winning novel by Nobel Prize winning Author J.M. Coetzee, 'Disgrace' is an insightful examination into life in a time of political and social upheaval. The movie is set in post-apartheid South Africa, however was directed by Australian Steve Jacobs with the assistance of his wife, Anna Maria Monticelli, as screenwriter.

It traces the tale of David Lurie (John Malkovich), a twice-divorced and dissatisfied English professor. When he seduces one of his students, and in doing nothing to protect himself from the consequences, he is dismissed from his teaching position, and takes refuge on his daughter's farm in the Eastern Cape. For a time, his daughter's influence and natural rhythms of the farm promise to harmonise his discordant life. But the balance of power in the country is shifting. In the aftermath of a vicious attack on the farm, he is forced to come to terms with more than his disgrace alone.

Directed by Steve Jacobs; Starring, John Malkovich, Eriq Ebouaney, Antoinette Engel and Jessica Haines.
