Public Enemy Number One - Parts One and Two

This tough-as-nails, crime-themed docudrama is a four hour, two-part biopic marathon on the doings of infamous French thug Jacques Mesrine (1936-79), officially regarded for many years as "Public Enemy #1" in Gaul. Here, he is played to the hilt by Vincent Cassel, who underwent massive weight gain and loss to properly evoke Mesrine. The film uses political factions for "inspiration," such as the Red Brigades and the Baader-Meinhof Gang, before an ugly incident with Parisian authorities brings him tumbling down from his throne.

Directed by Jean-François Richet; Starring, Vincent Cassel as Jacques Mesrine, Cécile De France as Jeanne Schneider and Gérard Depardieu as Guido.

This two part series will be screened at a special event - Sunday Crime Time - on Sunday 13th September, with an afternoon tea interval in between. Grab your tickets from Ace Cinemas.
